WORK WHERE
YOU BELONG.

TOGETHER,
WE MAKE A
DIFFERENCE.

From our beginnings as one small store in Kentucky to our growing locations across the U.S., we have continuously shown up for underserved communities. Our commitment to Serving Others extends to our team, too. We’re taking steps to ensure Dollar General is inclusive so we can reflect the communities we work in. Our differences make us stronger, and we celebrate diversity. No matter who you are, you are welcome here.

At Dollar General we foster an environment where employees and customers feel valued

and are able to bring their whole selves to Dollar General each day. We are committed to respecting and embracing the differing experiences and perspectives we all bring to the table. With such a bright future ahead of us, we will continue to collaborate to reach new customers, promote an inclusive culture, and live our values of giving back.

OUR STORIES.

CALI

DISTRICT MANAGER

“Being a kid from a third world country, I faced so many challenges. Everyday I wake up and think about how far you can go in this company regardless of where you come from.”

BRIAN

SENIOR DIRECTOR OF CUSTOMS AND ETHICAL COMPLIANCE

“A lot of people might not know what LGBT people experience. Being accepted for who I am makes a big difference for me. At DG, we celebrate our differences.”

DENISE

DIRECTOR OF EMPLOYMENT BRANDING

“Don’t try to fit in, just be authentically you. Be a light in darkness. Be okay with being different. And then be the difference in the lives of others.”

DALLAS

TRUCK DRIVER TRAINER

“Working hard at my job makes it so someone else can get food on their table at night. I think everyone should be as nice as they can every day, so they have the chance to make someone’s day.”

SUPPORT FOR ALL.

At Dollar General, we foster a culture where every associate feels valued, connected, and empowered to grow. By embracing unique contributions and building strong relationships, we create a sense of belonging that drives success for our teams, customers, and communities. Employees of all backgrounds are welcome to join all of our ERGs.

  • Encouraging our team members who are starting their careers with our extensive network and professional development opportunities.

    Samantha S.

    DGYP President

“DGYP is a part of our members' networking tool belts—providing tips and opportunities to get young professionals into rooms and conversations they never thought they could be in. It's growth, development, access, connection, and shared experiences.”

  • Creating an open and safe space for LGBTQ+ team members while promoting inclusion throughout our Company.

    Trish S.

    EQUAL President

“EQUAL gives me the opportunity to foster community and advocacy in our shared LGBTQIA+ experiences and engage other ERGs and employees in allyship. Being a leader in EQUAL brings visibility to the many contributions and empowers me to support the careers of LGBTQIA+ team members at Dollar General.”

  • Uplifting our African American team members with networking opportunities and career development.

    Makia E.

    AAERG President

“I joined the AAERG because I believe education is often the bridge that leads to answering or accepting uncomfortable differences, followed by opening the minds and hearts to welcome those differences. Acknowledging cultural differences is not unnecessary; it is needed, intentional love, and this is the purpose of Dollar General's AAERG.”

  • Celebrating our veterans, active duty military, and others through support and community outreach.

    Elizabeth B.

    SERVE President

“I joined SERVE to engage in our military community and be a helping hand to those who sacrifice so much to fight for our freedom. With my husband's 25 years of military service, I am able to provide insight of the needs of service members and their families and am able to be a spokesperson for our military families and create awareness of their needs.”

  • Connecting women through lunch and learns, seminars, networking events, and community projects.

    Leah J.

    WPN President

“The WPN is special to me because it is all about women and allies supporting women. It breaks down barriers of women competing with one another and creates a supportive environment to network, develop, and grow so each woman can meet her personal or professional goals with the support of others.”

  • Promoting professional growth, recruiting, cultural awareness, networking, and community outreach for our Hispanic and Latino team members.

    James P.

    HOLA President

“I think about my upbringing, and while my parents raised me better than I could have hoped for, they weren't knowledgeable in how to help me identify a major, explore internships, network. I now have this sense of responsibility to help those where I can and to pay it forward, not only to my children and to the community at large in an effort to help others in their endeavors through HOLA.”
